Dawn Schroeder, MA, LPC received her Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.  She has a compassion to help individuals, families, and groups of all ages using a solution-focused, integrative approach.  Dawn enjoys inviting horses into her practice as she has witnessed the positive impact horses have had in the therapeutic process treating addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders and more.

Horses are the heartbeat of our team!  Horses have an acute sensory system in which they can hear the human heartbeat within four feet of a person.  This innate ability allows them to notice subtle changes in a human’s behavior and mirror honest feedback without judgement, blame, or shame.  Clients are a lot more willing to take that feedback from the horse and take it to the next level  in their their therapeutic  journey.

Ray Schroeder is a certified EAGALA Equine Specialist, having over 30 years experience with horses.  Ray has had a dream of helping people by connecting them with horses.  When he discovered the EAGALA model he knew in his heart this was the avenue to make it happen.  Ray has been personally affected in a positive way from the honest feedback of his horses.  They have especially taught him lessons in leadership, communication, attitude, and relationships.  Dawn is also certified as an EAGALA Equine Specialist

EAGALA is the leading international nonprofit association for professionals incorporating horses to address mental health and personal development needs.  The EAGALA model offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning.  All activities are ground-based and solution-focused.  There is no riding involved and no need to have any knowledge about horses.
